New Auction Record for HRH Prince Charles
We are delighted to report that Grand Auctions set a new auction record for prints by HRH Prince Charles in our September sale. The two most popular subjects were Balmoral (pictured above) and Sandringham (pictured below), both of which made £1,800 hammer.
Prints by Lowry also sold for high prices. The picture titled The Beach (Deal) was sought after by two local clients eventually selling for £3,000 hammer. It was not so long ago that Lowry prints sold for c.£300, but very recently there has been huge demand for anything by Lowry.
Rwanda Sale part 2
The proceeds from these sales has been going towards the building of a school in Rwanada. You can read about the fundraising in our blog A Sack of Old Clothes Builds a School in Rwanda. In our Rwanda Sale Part 1 we are delighted to say that we earned enough in sales to complete the toilets. In Part 2 in December we hope to raise enough to hire a teacher. This is really a very good cause, especially as all the money goes to the school. Africa is notorious for absorbing funds long before they reach their targets. There will be some interesting new pictures on offer.
