A pair of unusual Victorian hatching chick pepperettes

Auction: July 2021

A pair of unusual novelty Victorian hatching chick pepperettes. Modelled as two chicks hatching from eggs. Mark of James Barclay Hennell, London 1880. Both bear Victorian registration marks. (2 items) 2.6 in (6.5 cm) length. Weight: 136 grams. These are particularly rare, novelty examples and as such are hard to find. A similar, later made pair of pepperettes sold at Gorringes for £1,600 in 2010.
